Solutions — ESG & Regulatory Stakeholders
NuMetrik takes a factual, data-forward position on ESG. We measure what can be measured — continuously and accurately — and let the data make the case.
NuMetrik Platform
For ESG and regulatory stakeholders, all three capabilities are relevant: Process Intelligence provides the continuous, accurate measurement data; Certainty reconciles multiple measurement streams into a single defensible number; and Connectivity ensures continuous data availability across the plant.
Environmental Impact
Accurate, continuous slurry density measurement enables tighter process control — reducing water-to-solids ratio variance and improving tailings circuit stability. Better density control means more consistent tailings moisture content and reduced water loss to the tailings pond.
Note: Slurry density measurement is currently on the R&D roadmap. Deploy-ready parameters include flow rate, temperature, and wall thickness.
Slurry pumping is one of the largest energy consumers in a mineral processing plant. Real-time flow measurement enables pump operating point optimization — running pumps on their efficiency curve rather than off it. The energy efficiency gain scales directly with pumping volume and operational hours.
the measurement system replaces nuclear gauges used for slurry density measurement — eliminating radiological source licensing, regulatory reporting obligations, and eventual radioactive waste disposal from the operational footprint. No radioactive sources means no radiological risk to personnel or environment.
Compliance Reporting
Environmental compliance reporting for mineral processing operations typically relies on periodic grab samples — a measurement approach that captures the process at isolated moments in time, not continuously. A grab sample represents one point; the measurement system represents every point.
The difference matters for both accuracy and defensibility:
Every measurement is timestamped and logged. Compliance reports based on continuous data are complete and unambiguous — not reconstructed from spot measurements.
Continuous flow and process measurement captures excursions that periodic grab sampling misses entirely. A non-representative sample period can significantly under- or overstate actual throughput and process conditions.
Deploy-ready the measurement system parameters carry NIST-traceable calibration. Environmental reporting based on traceable measurement data has a stronger defensibility position than unvalidated grab-sample extrapolation.
Data Trust Layer
NuMetrik's Certainty layer applies sensor fusion and process data reconciliation to address a specific challenge in environmental reporting: when multiple measurement points characterize the same process variable, they frequently disagree. Certainty turns those conflicting inputs into a single reconciled value with a defined confidence interval.
For environmental reporting, this means one defensible number — with documented uncertainty — derived from multiple independent measurements, rather than a single instrument's reading with no redundancy or cross-validation.
